BEST's Smart Water Injection System works to control dust, smoke and fire in the shredder. It injects a known volume of water-an average of approximately five gallons per ton-into the rotor chamber. The system is programmed to dispense the minimum amount of water required to provide proper distribution and good evaporation. The Smart Water Injection System is PLC controlled. Its injection / fire pumps operate only on receipt of a healthy signal from the shredder. Water flow will depend on the loadings of the main-drive motor and preset limits. In the event of a fire, full capacity is brought online. The Smart Water Injection System is a fully assembled, skid-mounted machine that is programmed and completely factory tested prior to shipment.
